What's the best strategy game you've played?

Playing through Front Mission 5's got me in a strategy mood. So I'm wondering what you folks think is the best strategy game you've personally played. (I'm talking all genres of strategy here. RTS, SRPG, 4X, TBS, whatever.) If you just can't narrow it down to one, try to list the very best few then.

My own answer is Fallout Tactics.

This is tough. For 4X, I'd definitely say Civ V. For RTS, I'm gonna have to go Star Trek: Armada II for my favorite, but Rise of Nations definitely for best (being a Trekkie and nostalgia make me like Armada II more). For TBS, I'm gonna echo Jordan and say Advance Wars: Dual Strike. For SRPG, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Am I forgetting any sub-genres?

About Advance Wars:

I played the original Advance Wars, but its saturday morning cartoon plot did nothing to suck me in. You guys saying Advance Wars... was this any good?:

The darker looking plot might hook me better than the first three.

I found the plot of Days of Ruin laughable. But I liked the Saturday Morning Cartoon plot of the original AW, I thought it worked well. I think it is the best entry of the entire Nintendo Wars line.

Days of Ruin was good, but not as good as Dual Strike IMO. They went for a darker, grittier feel and aesthetic, but I didn't think it worked as well. You might like it if that theme is more your style, though. They're both excellent DS games.
