Gamecube Mod
Lets assume that I buy a Gamecube in the next week or so. What mod chip should I buy? I came across this one which seems easy enough... http://modthatcube.psx-scene.com/content/xenogc.htm. Also, am I best off snagging one of those modified cases that will allow me to play a full sized disc or will I be set with just getting a stack of three inch DVD-Rs? Any help would be appreciated.

If you're going to burn a LOT of gamecube games, it would be worth it to get the large case and use full size discs since they are less than half the price of mini dvd-r discs usually. If you're only going to have 15-20 games, it might be better to just leave the original case for now. It's always an option for the future.
I can vouch that the Qoob Pro is a great chip. It's the one i had in my modded cube (just gave it to my brother about 2 weeks ago since I have a D2CKey Wii now). It was 13 wires to install I believe and fit perfectly out one of the ports on the bottom of the cube for USB flashing.
To copy retail games you will need a BBA or one of those LG drives that copy the Wii games. However, if you know someone with a modded system who has a large selection of games, your regular DVD burner in a computer will copy a backup easily. You can do "disc to disc" in Nero or make an image out of it to burn later. This only works with copying backups because the game needs to be decrypted already.
But if you're just going to use torrents or something to get your images, you'll be set with just a burner.

13 seems like cake compared to the Wii chip I have... D2CKey was like 31 wires or something... And much smaller gauge wire.racketboy wrote:13 wires? wow -- makes you really appreciate how simple the Saturn chip is
But I did appreciate the ease of the Saturn chip. Took all of about 45 seconds to install.

Foundmy.com shipped to the USA last time I used them. Not sure what their rating is, but I've never had a problem dealing with them.

^^ My Available List ^^
My B/S/T list
I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.
As far as PS2 chips go, it depends on what version console you have. Some of their chips support all versions, one doesn't support version 17 or 18 from what I quickly read. I've never used any of the PS2 chips because I just do a soft mod on my PS2.
I have no experience with Xbox systems. I'm not a Microsoft fan and never will be.
