Phantasy Star Online on GC

Post by executioner »

Finally decided to get a gamecube and this guy was selling one for $100, then for $80 and then I bargained to $70. Its a platinum edition with a few scratchers but overall looks good, no box, 1 regular controller, 1 grey wavebird (reading this forum I knew this was a valuable thing), a broadband adapter and phantasy star online ep1&2. To my amazement copies of this are up the $30-40 range!

Now the official servers are down and there are a couple of private servers, any of you playing lately? which server would you recommend for a newbie?

I would recommend beating it before you go online. I went online with a lvl 14 character and the next lowest character I could find on any server was forty. Its a great game, and you got a pretty good deal on the set, congrats.

I play the Dreamcast version on that server, it's probably the best unofficial one there is (the only other one I know if is onlineconsoles, but you need to post and prove your worthiness in order to play ). I'm not too sure how many GC players there are as of late, but in the past there were tons. I have the GC version as well, but am only playing the Dreamcast one right now.

Also, you got a sweet deal. The BBA and PSO alone are probably worth about the $70.

If you are really interested in playing PSO online I would recomend http://gamecube.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/psoaccess.php It has some pretty strict guidelines to become a member and play PSO Online, but it's worth it if you don't want cheat or hacked items that may screw up your game.

Don't even get me started on onlineconsoles.com. The site materials are helpful, but Nikon and his community are a bunch of douchebag elitists. One of the times he banned me, it was literally because I said Radiant Silvergun was better than Ikaruga, and I was trying to explain to him what "opinion" means. Basically, if you have a different opinion than him on even the most menial of shit, expect to be banned.

I can't say the same, everyone at the site has been very helpful, even lordnikon. I've never seen him ban anyone for something like that, and doubt he would.

Well, I'm not a liar. Maybe he un-bitched himself recently. When I was there, the whole place just felt like a little boy's tree house.

The version of PSO you got is also useful for some types of GC hacking, which drives the price up on it.
