Did any of you Racketfolks from the states ever watch Nick Arcade? It was a fun staple of Nickelodeon's 90's lineup. Was a game show with 16 bit video games, pop quiz questions, puzzles, and a game board. It was hosted by a lively and lovely Phil Moore. Some of the episodes online are lulzy.
Only reason I mention this was the show had a cameo resurrection in Oklahoma at Super Bitcon. Mainly for some nostalgia and good times.

Re: Nick Arcade
Yes, and many episodes are available on YouTube. My favorite segments were of course the Video Challenges.
- The version of Sonic 2 they used on the show was supposedly a prototype.
- El Viento was NEVER played, probably the only game on the show that wasn't.
- Some games weren't played with the correct controllers (example, a contestant was playing Joe & Mac on the SNES and was a little confused when there was a Neo-Geo controller to use!)
- One of my favorite moments was right here at 13:12 when some random girl tore through Vapor Trail and beat the points requirement. A SHMUP!

Re: Nick Arcade
I was actually on a kick of watching episodes of this last year before Viacom cease and desisted the Retro Nickelodeon channel on my Roku. It's super cheesy but I was surprised how many obscure titles were on the show.
Re: Nick Arcade
I catch myself thinking about the show randomly when I see certain situations or comments online. I watched it religiously, loved the spamming of the SNES they heavily did on there. There were other less cool but still entertaining shows that did it as well, names slip me, and I don't mean supercade. I think Gamepro had the other, kind of lame compared.

There was such a thing? Of course the corporation didn't like it.

Season 2 of the syndicated Video Power had a competition format where they played NES and Genesis stuff.

Re: Nick Arcade
I watched the show and see-sawed between wishing I could be on it to being terrified at the thought.
What I remember most was one episode in which the winning team couldn't hit some object properly while they were "inside the game." The teammate was just jumping up in the air and trying to tag something, over and over, but for whatever reason it wasn't registering. I remember being devastated for them.
Now, as an adult, I wonder what the technical problem was that caused the issue, and whether or not the show made things right for the contestants if it really was just a buggy error on their part.

I watched Nick Arcade everyday. I remember trying top figure out how they put kids into a video game. Now it's obvious that they were using a green screen.
Cool show, but not quite as cool as Legends of the Hidden temple.

If you like Hidden Temple, you have to read this guy's episode commentary. It's hilarious. Not sure how many he did; I've only read the first, but I'm re-reading it now and it still makes me laugh.
Now back to Nick Arcade.

I never realized how badly I need to own a silver snakes t-shirt until I read this.
Right, Nick Arcade. What was the name of that Pong clone with the sound waves?

What I remember most was the kids trying to walk around those green screen segments. It was so frustrating to watch, but I'm sure it was really difficult. There was one that really annoyed me though. A girl playing that generic Pharoah level and she just kinda stood around not knowing what to do at all.
Oh I also remember the questions being really easy at times.
