Miitomo and MyNintendo

Post by darsparx »

So is anyone else really using this yet? I've got to admit it is very interesting, though I do hope they kick up the physical rewards since I never really had the ability to take advantage of Club when it was around.

Doesn't seem like it will be very easy though right now to add each other(unless somehow prfsnl and me somehow meet up again). Though they do at least put in the qr code part into the app to where it seems you can share copies of mii's between each other or from other platforms.

I have one too, but that's mostly because I used to have a Club Nintendo account which I used a lot. It does really seem like an app-version of Tomodachi Life, which I suppose is what they were going for. I'm not sure how much I'll really use it though, unless some really crazy pants rewards start coming out.

Now if there were some interaction with your 3DS and I could get more hats for the little guy on THERE...

I was playing around with both of these last night and while MyNintendo seems ok I'm not sure I'll use Miitomo past the first couple of days to collect points.

I'm not big on digital only as the means to collect gold coins though and the platinum prizes aren't all that great. I am however only 160 points away from that Zelda Picross game so I'll probably grab that.

I didn't know this was out yet, thought people were still sideloading android or using jailbroken ios phones/tablets to download the JP version since it had english in it.

I might have to pop this on my phone and see if it's worth bothering or my android tablet.

I've got Miitomo, and I love it. I've mostly been adding my friends via Facebook. It's a neat little time waster.

I agree that the My Nintendo rewards are a bit lackluster right now, but in fairness, the program has only been up in North America for 24 hours; I'm sure it will get better with time.

Nope, from what I saw it opened up March 31st. My only problem and I do hope somehow it improves and they amend it, but it would be great if the first time you inserted a game(or at least they included codes again) that you could have those add points. As nice is digital is, it will never compare to the feeling I still get from inserting a cartridge. I don't like the way everything is heading the way of digital now because it seems to be leaving out those of us who still like physical. I have fun with miitomo but I do wish it was a little more friendly to those of us who most like don't have friends on facebook who would be using the app(and apparently not on twitter either because I've updated the data several times since downloading it very early on the 1st. It's fun but I can't use my game tickets since I don't have any friends I can add apparently so I'm missing out there if it really is fun to play it.

I can agree with all that and I basically avoid social media as it's just a way for other people to judge you, fire you, harass you -- no privacy. It's an interesting tool but I dont' see using it because of that stupid design limitation outside of questions/registering things I may buy. Given Nintendo kind of going stupid on how they design some stuff the last generation or two I'm not much in love with their stuff blindly as I was because, the trust is shot as they're very hit and miss. I doubt I'd rack up much points to get anything I'd care fore before they expire the stuff.

Being required to make e-shop purchases for gold coins as opposed to physical ones is a bit of a ball-ache just because I personally prefer owning physical copies of things, but from Nintendo's perspective, they have no reason not to heavily promote their e-shop in ways like this. It just means they get so much more money for their games compared to selling them through GameStop or some other retailer, and it stops someone else from just buying your used copy if you decide to sell it afterwards.

I don't exactly like that gold coins work that way, but I totally understand why they're doing it.
