this game has never looked all that appealing to me. Thankfully it's only $3 on Steam, so I don't mind taking a crack at it.

It's worth a punt. The game world looks so cool and interesting to me, but the gameplay is something I think I might struggle with as it draws a lot from cinematic platformers like Prince of Persia which I've never been a fan of.noiseredux wrote:this game has never looked all that appealing to me. Should be an interesting experience either way.

Next time I get paid I'll be grabbing it on GOG.com!
Re: Together Retro: OddWorld: Abe's Oddysee
Crap This month snuck up quick both PS1 & PS4 versions for me, now let's see how far before I get stuck and quit. Although similar to Prince of Persia and other such cinematic platformers, I give this game the edge for its humor and darkness also I think the save points help since they are frequent you can chip away at this game.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

I like that Oddworld gives you infinite lives. You need 'em.

I had this game back on PC back in the day and really enjoyed it. Weird humor and a cool dark world. The gameplay is kind of like the Prince of Persia, Another World, Flashback, etc stuff. I remember Exodus being extremely hard from the start, but the first game was doable. I might get the remaster or something to give it another go with you guys.

Does it count if I play Oddworld: New 'n Tasty? How much does that game depart from the original?

My understanding is that it play similarly but the puzzles are somewhat different.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Does it count if I play Oddworld: New 'n Tasty? How much does that game depart from the original?
I think it still counts.
Re: Together Retro: OddWorld: Abe's Oddysee
I played this game on the Xbox back when it was new, I actually liked it quite a bit though I never finished it (If I remember it gets pretty hard eventually). I wouldn't mind playing it again to get some of the atmosphere, I wonder if my computer can handle it!
