Hi guys i was able to get a HORI GC stick (the Soul calibur one) just last month and i want to be able to make the most out of it. Can anyone suggest GC fighting games (that work well with an arcade joystick, so smash not counted)
i cant see to find anything beyond the following:
1. soul calibur 2
2. capcom vs snk 2
3. mortal kombat
4. bloody roar
5. gundam vs z gundam
anything else ? if there isn't really much what other games that could work well with an arcade stick ? those top down shmups of course i've already seen in this very site

Re: Gamecube Fighting and other Arcade games
There are also arcade compilation discs for gamecube. Namco Museum and Midway Arcade Treasure comes to mind. more info here: http://www.racketboy.com/retro/best-gam ... mpilations
Pro tip! If you plug that Gamecube controller into the Gamecube ports on top of a standard wii, you may find that your arcade choices go up dramatically.

Re: Gamecube Fighting and other Arcade games
There aren't very many fighting games on the GameCube to begin with. Compared to the PS2 and even Xbox the GameCube was shafted when it came to a couple of genres and that was one of them, SHMUPS being another.
My FS/FT/WTTF list:

The first two Naruto games were released over here but the Japanese 3 and 4 are usually looked at as the better ones in the series. You certainly don't need both though since the game play is very similar.
You could also get Bleach which is Japan only.
While they aren't fighting games I would possibly recommend something like Gauntlet or Alien Hominid.

Good to know.
Gauntlet wont work with the stick - since it simulates the Dpad not the analog stick (dpad is inventory). Alien Hominid on the other hand is worth it for the "PDA game" minigame

Re: Gamecube Fighting and other Arcade games
there's also:
Dragon Ball Z Budokai
Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee
..and a wrestling game that would work well on that GC stick would be Wrestlemania XIX. Great old school roster too!

Why has Ikaruga not been mentioned?
Also - GBA games like Final Fight One work great with the gamecube stick. I will be playing Gundam Seed Battle Assault with it soon.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
