I heard murmurs about this awhile back. I'll definitely give it a shot when I have a chance.
I bought the game a couple of years ago. It's a worthy remake. Part 1 was remade as well.

This is pretty cool. I was researching Phantasy Star and trying to decide which version I should play. I thought the PS2 version looked best, but I decided not to play it because I wouldn't be able to use the bonus for the PS2 Phantasy Star II. I also tried looking for a translation for the Mega Drive version but couldn't, so I decided to play the original Master System version. With this translation coming soon, I might just play both versions of PS I and II.

Re: Phantasy Star Generations 2 fantranslated (PSII PS2 rema
I recommend playing the original games first. One big reason is that the music in the PS2 versions is not nearly as nice as the original games' music. At least IMO. I think playing the PS2 versions after you finish the originals would be a treat though. But only as a cherry on top more so than the actual sundae.GSZX1337 wrote:With this translation coming soon, I might just play both versions of PS I and II.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Re: Phantasy Star Generations 2 fantranslated (PSII PS2 rema
I played and completed the pscave.com English translation Phantasy Star Generation 1 on my Sony Playstation 2. It was awesome. Since then there is a new version out with even more tweaks and fixes.
I've been playing the pscave.com English translation of Phantasy Star Generation 2, again on my Playstation 2, and at the moment there is a serious problem with random drops that sometimes happen after combat. When a random drop happens the game will freeze. You have to reboot and you'll loose all your progress since your last save. You can only save in Town so this is real trouble.
I've read that people playing the game via emulation have not encounter this problem and it only appears to happen for people who are using real hardware (modded Playstation 2).
This bug has been identified and it's currently being worked on. I'm really eager to start playing it again.
