For less than $12, maybe cheaper in the mainland, you can get a Lightscribe drive, >$18 for 50 Lightscribe discs, and a little time, you can get great looking backups. Stop torturing CDs with the sharpie!!!

Aloha gamers. 1 DC was trashed, other was a little better condition. I do a full teardown, clean, retrobrite, troubleshoot, repair in full detail. Maybe this can help someone out there fix their ailing DC.

Man those sure were in a sad state! Thanks for bringing them back to life!

You might get a kick out of this one a guy found in a forest in Japan and it must have sat there for over 10 years at least by the look of it but sure enough the guy brought it back to life!

Thanks for the appreciation of saved consoles and for linking that amazing restore. I can't believe the laser was still working on it. Unreal. That would be a dream scenario though. I really wonder though, what the hell was that console doing there. Who put it there? Why was it put there. Cause there is absolutely no rubbish but that console. Ah, the mysteries of life.

My guess is that it was some Japanese kid who just outgrew it and got the next best thing and moved on. I know a lot of kids here in the USA are wasteful of their old toys and stuff when they get tired of them and trash tons of computers and stuff.

Heck I just scored a 56 inch 1080I Panasonic Projection TV last month that my next door neighbors put by the curb. It fully worked I even tested out Genesis and 360 on it. Guess I can see why people would get tired of moving something like that which weighed 240 pounds haha. Was on rollers but still not made to carry through grass lol. Did it all by myself. :lol:

Yeah, and I was one of them dumb kids who got rid of my smooth NES, GI Joe and Transformer toys. :cry:

But why is it in the woods where no other trash seems to be around? It seems to stick out like a sore thumb.

Anyway, you must be crazy trying to handle that 200+lb TV by yourself. Either crazy, or you must be huge.

This one was "not powering on." Ended up being a blown varistor and fuse. Hopefully, this will inspire some out there to save a Saturn.

This ended up being very comprehensive from troubleshooting, to finding parts, to comparisons.

Feedback welcome.

Man Catch22 I have watched two of your videos, and I must say you are the man. You got me thinking about doing my own restoration on a Japanese Saturn I won on EBay today?

You don't like the BG music? It's supposed to tie in the whole theme as it's Sarah's VF2 music, which I forgot to add into the description. OOPS!

BTW, I thought I had the BG volume lowered enough to just make out the music, I guess not! I'll make the adjustments on my subsequent videos.

Thanks for the ups! I really try and make a point to answer possible reply questions that viewers might be having in their head while watch a repair video...
