Help building my own gaming headset for the PS4

So my mic on my turtle beaches broke, this is the 4th pair to break in about 8 years. So sick of the lack of quality on so called gaming headsets so I have decided to put together my own, I ordered a pair of Seinhauser HD 598s after hearing rave reviews, and will use a modmic 4.0 to turn it into a headset but where do I plug in the headphones my old Turtle beaches had a box that plugged in to the optical out on my PS4, is that the amp? Anyone recommend a good amp that will not break the bank?
