PS3 Bluetooth Remote and GlovePie works.....although

Post by s8n »

hi members , i bought a PS3 Bluetooth Remote and it works great with GlovePie. Although i would like to use the Volume Up and Down on the remote with mpc-hc , in the GlovePie settings there is no option to use those 2 buttons.

i was wondering if anyone knows a workaround or something im missing

That's because those are IR and not Bluetooth.

It sounds like you have the second PS3 remote, which combines an IR universal remote in with the BlueTooth PS3 remote. Only BlueTooth behaviors are map-able (unless you have an IR sensor hooked up to the computer)

You're going to have to use different buttons or get an IR sensor. There are IR to BlueTooth adapters, to note, but it's likely just not worth your time compared to getting a legitimate BT remote.

GlovePie recognizes these inputs for the remote:

Code: Select all

Eject Num1 Num2 Num3
Audio Num4 Num5 Num6
Angle Num7 Num8 Num9
Subtitle Clear Num0 Time
Blue Red Green Yellow
Display TopMenu Popup Return
Triangle Circle Up Down
Left Right Enter Square
Cross L1 PS R1
L2 R2 L3 Select
Start R3 Rewind Play
FastForward Prev Stop Next
StepRev Pause StepFwd
For reference, here's the model 1 PS3 remote:

Personally, I'd recommend using the L or R buttons. You can have Volume Up, Down, and Mute.
