Game Music Podcast: The VGM Jukebox! [Twitch Dinner Event!]

Post by Key-Glyph »

Hey everybody!

You might be familiar with The Legacy Music Hour, a podcast that features 8-bit and 16-bit video game music and discussions thereof.

Well, a fellow LMH user and I have joined forces a spinoff series of sorts, called The VGM Jukebox.

Every two weeks we'll pick a few video game tracks, play them, and talk about them. The hook of our show, though, is that we eventually want to run on 100% listener suggestions. In other words, we want our audience to supply the tracks, and we'll just function as the talking heads delivering the goods.

We also pretend we're hanging out in a bar with an actual VGM-playing jukebox during every show. I'm telling you right now, if cheesiness makes you uncomfortable... this is not the podcast for you.

But I do hope some of you will listen in, and maybe write in with some track suggestions! There will be links on the blog to help you do that via e-mail and survey if you so choose.

And please, if you have feedback in mind, please give it. We want the constructive criticism. Thanks!

First of all, a big thanks to all of you folks who listened in and/or submitted suggestions. We're building up a nice pile of recommendations!

Second of all, the VGM Jukebox is now on iTunes! If you're interested in our little effort and prefer to snag your podcasts this way, that option is now available to you.

Just finishing up the latest episode now while cleaning up the apartment. This is definitely a great spring cleaning style podcast. Great to just listen to, get wrapped up in the music and working hard. The amped up music makes working extra intense and having a drink and a break while listening to some of the more chill music. Excellent work guys! Keep it up!

Yay my recommended track was played! New one is up for everyone by the way! Virtual Boy REPRESENT!

To answer the question, the sound did come out of the system, but you HAD to use headphones to get the full experience. You can learn all about the music HERE!

There are 6 channels, the first four having identical wave tables, independent left and right volume levels, and the sixth channel is for noise. This system seriously had the BEST sound chip out of all the systems and it really produced such great sound. I love it! I wish more people used it for chip tunes.

Thanks for playing the track guys! Keep up the good work! I loved the selection!
