What this is:
August 15th marks the USA anniversary of Metroid on the NES, and I want to celebrate. Nintendo doesn't seem to be doing anything, as usual, so let us, the fans, step up and rock our own birthday celebration! I'll be unveiling a new Metroid themed 'Backlit NES' as part of my ongoing art series, releasing a fun Metroid themed Youtube video, and giving away ALL of my coolest Metroid themed possessions as FREE PRESENTS during the celebration to try and make this anniversary actually mean something.
YOU should join in too!
In addition to everything I'm personally doing, I ask that any of you who are Metroid fans will join with me and post stories, artwork, photos, videos, music, or any other related content on social media starting on the 15th with the hashtag #metroidcelebration. Let us band together, my Bounty Hunter brothers and sisters, with or without the big 'N' and show the world that WE, the fans, still care about (classic) Metroid. Help make this a fun and unique experience that we remember for some time to come.

Let's be honest. Metroid hasn't seen much love lately. My intent with this event is to create a fun experience for the retro gaming community that helps fill the hole until we get a new (good) Metroid game. I hope this event creates something special that we enjoy and remember for some time to come. Who knows, if this gets big enough, maybe Nintendo themselves will take note...

The prizes include, but are not limited to:
1.) - A complete in box copy of Metroid for the NES - This is the later, 'Classic Series' release. Cart, manual, box, styrofoam insert, and protective collector's case for the box and resealable bag for the manual are included.
2.) - A custom built Power Suit helmet - Built by myself, this helmet is fully wearable and includes LED lighting that you can turn on and off via a hidden switch inside the helmet.
3.) A custom built Arm Cannon - This is a wearable cosplay arm cannon. Very light weight and comfortable.
4.) A custom built Metroid Sculpture - This is a sculpture I built of a Metroid inside a containment canister. The Metroid is suspended inside the canister, and will move around if you gently shake it.
5.) - A hand drawn map of Zebes - Created by 'Christiano Bellotti Comics and Art', this is a piece of artwork, but also a full map of the game. Hang it on your wall or use it to explore the planetary depths. He has a VERY limited number of these available up for sale too, so if you are interested, contact him asap.
6.) - A grafitti pixel art Metroid - Created by 'Nintandy'. This is a piece of artwork that was painted one color/layer at a time. The canvas is a wooden base and has a hanger on the back so you can display it on a wall. Nintandy has really developed her skills over the years, and can create some truly epic graffiti art. Be sure to check out her work and contact her if you are interested in commissioning anything.
