I was recently researching the development of Floigan Bros for the Dreamcast and came across game designer and voice actor Brian Silva. I was impressed by his resume which included Accolade, Midway, Visual Concepts, Blizzard and Specular Interactive. Even more interesting was his gameography which included several famous titles as well as several unreleased games.
Brian was the original voice of Bubsy and went on to design Bubsy II and the unreleased Congo game for Genesis and SNES. He worked at Visual Concepts co-creating Floigan Bros. with the intention to release it on the Playstation in 1996. He then worked at Midway on Hydro Thunder (game designing and playing the narrator) and worked on Hydro Thunder 2 which was far along in development but was cancelled due to Midway cutting their arcade division. He has since worked with Specular to create H2Overdrive (Hydro Thunder's spiritual successor) and Batman (which he both designed and played the voice of Mr. Freeze).
Suffice to say, Brian has had a long, varied, and impressive career and I was amazed nobody has talked to him... until now! I had the pleasure of talking to Brian for an hour about his games, and he has since promised to return with a fellow Midway/Visual Concepts employee!
