Hearthstone Tournament - starts WEDNESDAY night

Greetings,

This thread is for an upcoming Hearthstone Tournament for Racketfolk. Please post in thread if interested.

Rules
-Double Elimination
-Each round consists of a best of three against your opponent
-Any and all cards you have available are eligible for use
-New rounds as results come in
-If after 3 days a match doesn't take place due to members being unable to align a time; I will set up a date and time. If a member is unable to make it, or otherwise coordinate a time to play before that end date / time; that member will forfeit their match.
-Prizes - up to y'all. When signing up, indicate whether or not you'd be game for an optional $5 entry fee with money being "donated" to tournament winner(s).

I know Mike enough to know that he doesn't play games to take it easy on anyone. That's a competitive dude right there. In a good way.

That's fair enough. I'm fine either way. Chances are you'd win the $ anyway, haha.

Yep, my competitive edge is why the $5 entry is optional...just make it more exciting, but it's optional and you can put it in or not. If someone wins the entry fee donations and didn't put in; they still get the prize. It's just for funsies. Prize can be donated if you win and don't want it too, etc.

Yeah, SB, i'm pretty new at it too, so was def. playing to win, etc. Thing about this game - one mistake can not only swing a match, but can completely make a close match into a blowout.

I was dominating a guy last night - was using warrior, had 30 health and 8 armor, and a pretty full field. He had 9 health. Guy plays a card (Alexstrasza) which drops my hero from 38 to 15. So, literally had the effect of a 23 point hit. I fight back, get him down to 2 health. Then he plays (Enhanco-Mechano) on his next turn. Gives EVERY minion in your field: Taunt, Windfury, or Divine Shield. He plays that, uses his new windfury, gets me to 5. My next turn is spent attacking his minions who now have taunt and shield. Then, he finishes me on next turn. A match i'm dominating, have 38 health, and i'm smoked in 2 moves.

EDIT: Aidric corrected me. Alexstrasza dropped me to 15 health, but we kept our armor. But once Alextrasza got Taunt the next turn...and he's an 8 hit character, he took away my armor on that next turn, then the rest attacked.
