Any games like Ikari Warriors or Commando for Genesis?

I already have Caliber 50, and its pretty fun. But are there any other games like it for the Genesis?

IMO, it is the best of its kind on the Genesis. It doesn't touch the arcade original, however.

Yeah MERCS is actually the Commando sequel. Fun game.

Mercs is just a really excellent game, especially if you play the original mode which fleshes the game out beyond just the arcade port which is great on its own.

Also Flamethrowers. Awww yeah.



I'd also suggest trying Rambo III and Elemental Master which is forced scrolling like Gun.Smoke.

Soldiers of Fortune/The Chaos Engine might me worth looking at as well though it has more explorable levels. True Lies is in the same vein as that game and also really fun.

It is simply more fun than most of the other games in its genre. I also spent a lot of time with the arcade original as a kid...so...uh...nostalgia.

As soon as I saw this thread, I was ready to post MERCS, but, yeah. P_G is right, it's Battlefield Wolf II aka Commando sequel (and their organizational badge is also a wolf in-game!)

Soldiers of Fortune I'd highly recommend too.
