It's so beautiful....
God damn you, Square. For those who don't know.
3.5 years later, we get a playthrough of Chrono Ressurection
Wow -- that is stunning.
How depressing

Dammit. Not the note I wanted to end tonight on.
I understand how companies have to protect their licenses, but come on! Why this incredible fear that profits will be lost by allowing fan projects? Do they honestly believe that people will look poorly on a franchise because someone made a crappy tribute. Generally really crappy mods, romhacks, or indie projects are quickly and mercifully forgotten.
If a group of unpaid people, working in their free time, can produce something better than the massive teams at game companies then those companies should just give up. I mean really. If the fans make games that are more popular than Square's, then just pack up and go home. You don't win by pushing the other guy down, but by being better than him.
I'd rather see no more Chrono games over a poorly done sequel, but the time is ripe. Do we really need another Forgettable Fantasy?
Bah.

Wow. Almost every response so far could pasted straight on to a Shenmue thread.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

build your own gun!
Game looks decent, but the character modeling looks pretty weak. He's really top heavy and out of proportion. And I don't think the main character was supposed to have nappy dreadlocks either, it looks odd.
I'm happy with the PS1 re-release with the nice cut scenes.
