So... I bought a Pico

Post by BoneSnapDeez »

The fact that I lacked one (North American) Sega console was bothering me.

So yeah, Pico. I has one.

Any else on the Pico train? Any game recommendations?

Richard Scarry's Huckle and Lowly's Busiest Day Ever is mandatory as far as I'm concerned. I will buy it!

Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld looks intriguing.

Ecco Jr. also appears to be on the Pico. Not sure if it's the same as the Genesis game.

It's a region-free system so maybe I'll check out some imports like Sailor Moon and Rayearth.

After that I'm stumped. In any case, I have a 2-year-old daughter so maybe she'll get a kick out of this.

I've had a Pico for years. It just collects dust. The "storyware" cartridges are a neat gimmick were each page of the booklet is a separate mini-game. There are few games on the console that a grown adult will want to play for more than ten minutes. There are a few neat Disney Games. Math Antics with 101 Dalmations, Pocahontas Riverbend Adventures, Lion King Adventures at Pride Rock, Year at Pooh Corner, and Mickey's Blast into the Past. These are all "edu-tainment" games. None of these titles have fantastic gameplay, but they have the Disney visuals from a time when Disney and Sega were closely aligned.

Passed up on a system and a bag of CIB games a few years back for $15 didn't notice the tv outputs and had never heard of the system at the time :P. Haven't seen anything Pico related in the wild since then.

I have one too with nearly every 'Game' that was released. Its in storage now but my son and I used to play with it all the time when he was little. Its a really good device for kids 5 and under I'd say and a nice curiosity for Segaphiles like myself. Anyway, the Sonic carts always got them most playtime and seemed to be the most fun. Also there was a Crayola one that was pretty fun to color and draw with.

I never had the crayola storyware. To me, that seems kinda pointless because every storyware had a drawing/coloring game on the last page. What did the crayola storyware do that differentiated it from all the other storyware?

A pokemon on a Sega console? My piracy sense is tingling.
