Your opinion: Repro cases for loose carts?

Post by ashreii »

I see that there is a case for just about every game ever on eBay. They are made by Dust Covered Games. I was thinking they would look great on a shelf but kind if feel like it's being cheap at the same time. Almost like buying a fake Rolex.

Does anyone have some of these? What do you guys think about them? I'm on the fence.

Those cases on eBay are just Universal Game Cases which can be bought in bulk much cheaper and then you can add your own art. The eBay ones are kind of a rip off unless you really like the art they came up with or something.

That said Universal Game Cases are cool and a nice way to individually protect your games. If I had the room for them I'd probably invest in them. I've seen some collections using them with custom art that look amazing on the shelf.

unless you don't feel like downloading from thecoverproject and printing them yourself or going to Kinko's.
FTFY. Yes they might have made the art themselves, but it's pretty likely they just fetched from there. There are a fair number of threads here with people talking about these and game room threads full of collections in them.
