Summer time games

Post by halosoul »

Summer's here!

Time to get out in the sun and do loads of fun stuff, or alternatively play videogames. I have to say so far my summer has mostly consisted of the later, due to lack of uni work and most of my friends working at their jobs. I do work part time by the way, just in case you think I'm sitting on my bottom playing games all day, that is certainly not the case, but still I got a lot of time on my hands.

Any way, back to the point. There are lots of games out there with a summery feeling, perfect for complimenting the glorious summer mood and weather. So I've compiled a list of what I feel to be some top summer time games, enjoy!

1. Super Mario Sunshine- Summer time shrunk down onto a gamecube disc
2. D.O.A Xtreme Beach Volley Ball- You can't get much more summery than this!
3. Outrun 2006- Ahhhh...Sun, sand and and fast cars...bliss
4. Sonic R- Sing: 'Can you feel the sunshine? Does it brighten up your day?'
5. Shenmue 2-
I usually end up playing through shenmue in the summer, I was gonna list the first game here until I remebered its set in totally the wrong part of the year, anyway the second enstalment features much more sunny weather

There's my top 5. I'm theres loads more summery games out there, any one else got any suggestions?

Boktai 1 or 2 is a perfect summer game, since you need sunlight to progress.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
Street Fighter Alpha 3

Those are my summer games, I remember playing them all during the summer to pass the time.

There's a thrid Boktai game which got released in Japan recently, there's Boktai DS, which evolved into Lunar Knights (it appears to be a similar concept). It doesn't have a release date yet.
