What is the hardest game to watch someone be bad at?

Post by J T »

When you know how to play a game and you watch someone who doesn't know how to play it, you can find yourself wanting to rip the controller out of their hands so the game can be played correctly. What game do you find to be most infuriating to watch in the wrong hands?

Anything FPS drives me bonkers when people are playing poorly.

I knew a guy in my freshman year of college who played solitaire on his laptop instead of taking notes during the lecture. The problem was he was AWFUL at solitaire. The game's not that complicated, dude. Put the black eight under the red nine and turn another card over. You'd think that with as much time as he wasted playing solitaire, he'd eventually get the hang of it. Nope.

C'mon, you're killin' me, Smalls!

Any 3D first or third game with a lot of exploration. I tend to go slow and check everything, so if someone misses things I get really tense lol

Any Super Mario Bros game where they don't hold the run button while playing. You are never going to clear that gap, not jump into the face of that enemy, or ever be any good at the game if you can't master holding down the run button down while using the other button to jump! It also is annoying because it slows down the game to the point of it being boring. Watching people who can't understand this simple concept DRIVES ME CRAZY!

I don't think it qualifies as "bad gaming," per se, but I get really frustrated when I watch players actively avoid NPC conversation in RPGs. I'm always stressed they're going to miss an important clue, and it only takes five seconds to chat up that random villager anyway! It just seems like a lot of effort to put into being stubborn and practically ensuring that your gameplay backfires on you.

This sentiment will backfire horribly on you in Arcanum. The game has a realistic number of NPCs given the town sizes and EVERY ONE of them is interactable. The vast majority are also useless.
