I am considering getting Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast, but I don't know if there are any issues with any of the versions. My first question is: are there any timing issues with the PAL releases? I don't know how the Dreamcast handles timing, but I know of instances in older consoles where game mechanics had to be altered to compensate for the lower refresh (e.g. Mario's run speed in Super Mario World).
My second question is: were there any releases without an English language option? (It doesn't need to default to English, as long as I can change the option).
Also, are there any other region specific differences?
For reference I will be using a US Dreamcast outputting to VGA.
Sonic Adventure 2 Region Differences
Re: Sonic Adventure 2 Region Differences
99% (possibly an exaggeration, but most) PAL Dreamcast games will output at 60hz, meaning there are no borders and no slow down. Sonic Adventure 2 will output at 60hz. You may have to check with other American members here about TV compatibility though, as I don't know about running PAL games on American TVs and whether there's any issues with a PAL signal.
As for the Japanese version of SA2, apparently it has full English language option.

I'll be outputting via VGA, so it shouldn't be an issue. I just wanted to make sure that there weren't any significant differences between different releases.Reprise wrote:99% (possibly an exaggeration, but most) PAL Dreamcast games will output at 60hz, meaning there are no borders and no slow down.
