Can someone confirm this for me?

Post by darkNiGHTS »

I think I'm about to get special edition of the Game Boy Color, I've never seen a non-purple tinted clear Game Boy Color before. I'm about to buy a Japanese gaming lot from this one person on craigslist on it's in it. Here's a picture of it.

Am I right in seeing that it's not tinted purple?

I think it might be this:

But when I google that, the only thing that comes up is Play Asia, so that means that it's a translated version of the name. I'm picking up the lot tomorrow so I guess I'll see if it really is clear clear, but in the meantime could somebody help me figure out what version of Game Boy Color it would be?

Thanks.

Luckily the Game Boy has never been region locked so it will play all Game Boy (and Color) games regardless. And if it is that special edition I'm sure its worth a bit of money (no idea though).

it's not that mario edition b/c the version from play-asia has mario in the lower corner of the screen, the for sale one doesn't.

True, thanks for noticing that. Well I guess that rules out that.

Okay, so I received it today and took some pictures of it.

I also found a list of all of the colors that the Game Boy Color was released in, but clear without Mario doesn't seem to exist...

Alright, I fixed it. I was using the add image to post button in the post thing, but I guess that's not working or something.

no sticker on the back either, was the replacement shells scene active back in the GBC days?
