So I've often heard bandied about that certain unlicensed NES games required the lockout chip be present, because their way of getting around its existence apparently involved doing terrible, unspeakable things to its "Error: Fake cartridge!" signal.
Now as someone who games almost exclusively on toploaders, this is clearly relevant to my interests, especially because I take great joy in the big-name unlicensed games: Tengen, Color Dreams, Wisdom Tree, Camerica, etc
Except I've never been able to find a list of what games these supposedly are. I did some poking around on google earlier and found someone claiming "111 games" including Crystal Caverns require it (utter nonsense), I found someone else claiming that Wisdom Tree games require it (again, pish posh, I love Bible Adventures), I found someone claiming it was only Action 52 (distinctly possible, I have yet to acquire that -- saw a copy in person a year and change ago, but the guy wanted a king's ransom for it)... but no 2 people had the same lists. The whole affair had a mystical, urban-legend quality to it.
I'm aware NintendoAge is probably a better place to ask this than here, but I like you all more and I can't even remember what my password there was, so I'm asking here: Anyone have anything resembling a real list of these supposed games that require the NES lockout chip?
I know I myself have tried games by: Tengen, Camerica, Color Dreams, Wisdom Tree, AGCI and Epyx/SEI. That's most of the "oldschool", well known unlicensed games. I'm not particularly worried about Chinese XXX-in-1 boots. Panesian games and Action 52 I'd love to get in my collection eventually when the time is right. Just curious for the future. I'd never NOT have a toaster in my collection, but with my component modded toploader... that's getting all the love now.

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
