What are your 2015 "Retro" style gaming and collecting goals? Is their a game you've been wanting to play and haven't? Or a particular game, console, or set of games you've wanted to take the plunge on and have decided this is the year? Or conversely a system you have and don't want anymore.
What are your plans for 2015?
I'm wanting to do the following:
Collecting Goals:
1. Buy the remaining three Everdrive carts for systems I don't have a flash cart for, Turbo Everdrive, Game Gear Everdrive, and Mega Everdrive. If Krikzz releases the GBA Everdrive that shoots to the top of the pile.
2. Find a decently priced good condition GBA SP AGS-101 and a PSP 3000.
2. I'd like to acquire 2+ of the big remaining Gamecube titles I don't have yet - Skies of Arcadia Legends, PSO Episodes 1 & 2 Plus, Cubivore, RE 2, RE Code: Veronica X, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, Mario Party 4-6, Kirby Air Ride, Metal Gear Solid, Baten Kaitos Origins
3. I recently acquired an Atari Lynx and a PC-Engine. For the Lynx I only have Steel Talons and I don't have anything for the PC-Engine. For the Lynx I'd like to add some more CIB games for this system, thinking 5+. For the PC-Engine I want to find a regular controller, a couple of Hu-Card games, and a turbo composite booster or get it modded.
4. Continue acquiring, have StarFox & SMW2, the full set of US games that don't work on the SD2SNES - SuperFX, SA-1, and S-DD1 plus Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius and Super Bomberman Panic Bomber World.
4. Work on adding more first party Nintendo games for my various consoles and handhelds. The goal is to ultimately have almost complete first party sets for each system/handheld. I'm not going after competition, World Championship, NFR, or variant carts and I haven't decided on Japanese/Pal exclusives yet.
6. For my NES and SNES I would like to get a 4-player adapter for each along with a NES Blaster and SNES Super Scope
5. Decide whether I want to keep the PS2 and if I don't to part with it. If I do to exchange my phat for a slim model.
6. Get my consoles and games more organized then they currently are. Maybe take some pictures to post in the my game room/collection thread.
Gaming Goals:
6. Basically to play more and beat more games, especially with my kids. More specifically;
a. I would like to participate in the Retro Together forum at least 4 times this year.
b. Replay through Chibi-Robo
c. I would like to beat a Metroid, Zelda, Pikmin, and Kirby game this year. I always get near the end and stall out so I'd like to actually finish one from each series.
Miscellaneous Goals:
7. Finish the project I started this year for next year's Racketboy Charity Auction. I'm having a hard time finding a few things to finish it up.
8. Bind one book of Nintendo Power magazines (6 issues)

Re: Retro Gaming Goals & Resolutions - 2015
1. Complete at least 100 games. Backlog is over 1000 right now so I need to work on that
.
2. Finsih a Final Fantasy game that doesn't have XIII in the title. I am ashamed to say FFXIII is the only Final Fantasy game I have ever beat even though I have gotten insanely close to finishing III(remake), VII, VIII, IX, X, XII, and Advanced Tactics.
3. Get some more shelves so half my collection doesn't have to sit in boxes.

Re: Retro Gaming Goals & Resolutions - 2015
JMBarnes, I really thought the goal for Nintendo First Party Games was quite lofty, then I saw that even the Nintendo 64 / SNES have like 14-16 First Party Developed Games and slightly larger list when they're the publisher. That's a cool resolution for sure.
Here's my few:
1. Expand my Wii-U Library and play through all the games I have purchased so far. (4)
2. Play through the rest of my Dreamcast games that I've been wanting to.
3. Purchase and play through at least 5-10 games that I have on my wishlist.
4. Trim the fat, get rid of more games that I have no interest sitting in my collection collecting dust.
5. Play the Last of Us for PS3.
6. Experience a Fire Emblem Game. Suggestions?
7. Spend less than $40/month on the hobby. Keep accurate track of the budget, too.

I'd like to finish more games. Thankfully, since I've started keeping track it looks like I've already been doing that year over year.
So, maybe ... play games more consistently throughout the week.

By "start" you mean "play the whole trilogy", right?
It's amazing.
My goals are modest:
- Collecting: I'd like to slowly work through some of my Want List. Ideally I'd get at least two "new" retro systems in 2015. An Atari 8-bit computer and Sharp Twin Famicom are my top priorities.
- Gaming: I'd like to just work through my backlog and revisit some old favorites. Sticking mainly to retro stuff, as always.
