Games like Curses 'N Chaos??

Hi all, Happy New Year
I really like the look of Tribute Games' forthcoming Curses 'N Chaos:

It's such a simple premise; retro brawler on one screen, where you jump and hit waves of enemies but I can't think of another game like it.

Have you guys seen anything similar on consoles or arcades? The closest I can think of is Bruce Lee C64: http://youtu.be/jHzW7T-bwBc

But even then, it has platforms and more than one screen etc.

I would love to find something similar,

Yes, Slayin' is very similar (albeit without the mobile/constant move controls).

Anything Retro like these games?

The gameplay reminds me of a simplified Fairy Bloom Freesia, which is also an arena brawler:
