Slim PS3 with some scuffs , want to remove if possible

Post by s8n »

hi guys , i bought this Slim PS3 broken ( Blu-ray drive wont read discs ) for $36 AU i am going to put CFW on it as you can see it has some scuffs here and there. I would like to remove them if possible without ruining the texture ive tried a pencil rubber and Novus 321 with little success.

do you guys have any suggestions ?

I never tried to remove scuffs from a PS3 Slim with Vegemite before. Sounds interesting, maybe it'll work.

I haven't used a Mr Clean Magic eraser, perhaps that might work if used carefully.

I wasn't big on the aftertaste of Vegemite. I'm fond of Bovril on toast though, as far as brown substances an American might trick friends into thinking they've spread Nutella on bread if they're half paying attention.

Scuffs are tricky. A Mr. Clean magic eraser is basically just powdered bleach in bar form. It's a mild abrasive. That may just minimize the scuffing, but your PS3 will probably never look like new again.

I never tried Vegemite. I understand it's some kind of by-product made during beer production. That makes me wonder why it's just an Aussie thing. Beer is produced on every (non frozen) continent on earth. Why is Vegemite only on one continent?

Do you guys eat peanut butter in Australia?

Have you tried the lazy route and just put some stickers over the scuffs?

If you can find no other options then just slap something cool on it.

You didn't pay much for it. So I guess you can live with it.

The green side of a kitchen sponge might help too, but you'll end up changing the texture of the surface a little.

hi guys ............. its good to see some of you have heard of Vegemite and Hobe even trying it which is impressive.

i have seen Luke Morse use Magic Eraser's in some of his videos so i bought some to try out and can say it does remove the texture on what your using it on as ive experimented with it on a SNES controller.

yeah we do my mum likes it quite a bit , sometimes i get in the mood and put it on toast good stuff.

flojocabron wrote:You didn't pay much for it. So I guess you can live with it.

the main purpose is to CFW this thing , the scuffs arent a abomination but would be preferred if i could remove them.

great video i was laughing at some of the responses from those kids , interestingly we dont eat it like that down here which gives overseas people the wrong impression. If you put it on toast you first spread butter or margarine and then spread a tiny bit of Vegemite. Most aussies would say it tastes like shit too if made like in that video

Don't know about scuffs, maybe shoe polish?

I'm from UK so I usually get a lot of stick when I say I prefer Vegemite over Marmite, it's just what we had on our breakfast table growing up.

Wait, I lied. I maybe haven't had Vegemite. My mother is from England though, so I still have more exposure to that sort of thing than most Americans. I currently have Marmite (which I probably confused myself with), Bovril, Bisto, and Ribena on hand.
