Competition to Speedrun 21 Final Fantasy Games

This is pretty insane, and I think it is great that someone thought of this

Details from their FAQ:
-Starting December 1st, the first to complete the games (and their set challenges) wins; based on real time. Meaning the more a player plays, the more of an advantage they have. Expect some long streams!

Of course, there are some differences in player skill/knowledge, so I'll outline them here:
I can speedrun Final Fantasy 5, 7, 9, 10 and 13-2
Crumps can speedrun 4 and 6, however, has played more of the games through casually once before.

We have agreed to NOT skip cutscenes on the games that have cutscene skip (X-2 onward)

We both have Patreons set up for you to have us do additional goals.
My incentives are to beat each game twice (Full list at www.patreon.com/cereth).
Crumps has incentives to defeat the superbosses of the games.

I am in awe of the free time that some people have. I barely have time to finish a platformer these days, much less blast through decades worth of RPGs.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Those lists are pretty amusing.

Both have the FFIV Interlude listed... Isn't that more of an hour-long "bonus feature" than an actual game?

Chrono Trigger is one of the "bonus" games. Whaaaaat?

Also,

Final Fantasy 8 - PS1 (FUCK THIS GAME)
Final Fantasy 12 - PS2 (FUCK THIS GAME)

But yeah, this is insane.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but I beat Final Fantasy I & II this year. I have a long term goal of (re)playing III, IV, V, Mystic Quest, VI, and maybe VII before 2017 or so. Any more than that would kill me.

I liked Final Fantasy 8.

FF12 was a disappointment, though.

FF8 PC is a ballsy move.

Wouldn't Zell's moves be super hard to pull of on a keyboard? Or is it just a shit port?

I forgot that FFVIII had been recently released on Steam, with the necessary fixes. The original release is very well known for being extremely temperamental to try and get running on a modern PC.

As for Zell's moves, he only has two. Left Right and Circle X (I might have the order flipped on one or both). Everything else is just a waste of time.

I'm still working on a first time completion on most of the Final Fantasy games since original release dates. I don't think I'm going to win this.
