hi guys , i bought a different fan for my case modded 360 and i get 4 with it which is fine but i need more as im mounting a filter on top so no dust goes into the 360.
the screws that i get with the fan arent standard PC case screws so i cant use them ( ive tried ) the measurements of the originals are below.
from the top to the bottom 8mm and 4mm wide ( measuring across the bottom )
i was wondering will the below work or i need something else , please suggest what i should be looking for.

the length can be longer than i measured on the original ones but i definitely need 4mm wide

Re: looking for screws , need help
When doing a project and I'm not 100% if something will fit or only need 2-4 screws, I'll hit the local hardware store and take my items with me. Smaller ones around here sill have drawers of loose screws, so you can do a quick test fit. If you took the fan with you and just let them know or have someone help you, they should be fine with you bringing in something that is obviously not sold there for fitment tests.

I do this all the time.
For a fan like that though, I wouldn't even try and find a screw that threads into it. I would just get some long machine screws, at least slightly longer than the depth of the fan. Then use nuts and washers to fix it to the case. If the screws are too long, cut then cut them down to the right length.

I usually just bring that stuff to Fastenal.

Sometimes they've got to order it in, but i've never had to wait more than a day or two to get the exact thread and length I need.

I like screws. Especially different screws. So if you are heading to a hardware shop, make sure the screw you are getting has the right appearance. Getting the wrong screw will mess up the backside of your 360
