Not to say that the Wii has no good games, but it's clearly become the console of choice for non-stop quick cash-in toilet games.

Interesting how PS3 actually ranks the highest. Not to say that the PS3 has the best games, but it clearly takes a pass on all the licensed garbage titles.
Inarguable proof that the Wii is bloated with terrible games
I agree with you. I love my Wii, but it does significantly lack a library of good games. A lot of the Wii games out there are soooo easy and short. Some of the other games just plain sucked (Ninjabread man), but some games are worth the price (Super Mario Galaxy and No More Heroes).
I think Nintendo is just willing to accept almost any idea that's different hoping to cause a cultural phenomenon. Trying to compete with guitar hero and rock band by having a marching band game? Come on, Nintendo. Think Smarter.
Nintendo will have another good year though with Brawl and Mario Kart coming out. Unfortunately, I'm expecting some more awful titles to be mixed into the lot.

Atari 2600 (AV mod), NES, SNES (region switch for PAL), Virtual Boy, Gamecube, Wii (D2CKey), PSX (Stealth V), PS2 (independence exploit w/ 160 GB HDD), Goldstar 3DO, Philips CD-i, Dreamcast, Saturn (racketboy's chip), Sega Genesis 2 + CD2 + 32X + Power Base Converter, Game Gear.
It goes with the territory of being the best-selling/mainstream game machine.
The DS is getting that way too.
Luckly, there are good games out there, it's just harder to find them on the shelves.
Even for quality casual games on the DS it can be a challenge.
I went to buy a couple DS games for my mother-in-law's birthday (yes, she is actually always asking what new games she might be interested in)
Since my wife reminded me of her birthday less than a week ahead of time I had to rule out ordering some games online.
So I was at the mercy of my local retailers (and hopefully avoiding GameStop)
Usually, Target is my balance of a good store with a decent selection. However, I noticed that almost all of the DS section was filled with kiddie games (Hannah Montana, High School Musical, etc) and budget Brain Age clones. There were also a couple quality games, but they were geared specifically for gamers like us -- not my mother-in-law. I was hoping that they would have Mario Party DS since it was a recent release, but they didn't have that. Neither did they have either of the Cooking Mama games.
Luckly, my next stop, Best Buy had both. I snagged the last copy of Mario Party and most of the shelves were filled with the same crap as Target. However, in case anyone was interested, they had like 8 copies of Nacho Libre for the DS for $20!

Thursday last week I finally got the opportunity to play a Wii for the first time. The first game I played was Wii tennis. ( because I've played real tennis since the age of 7) When I hit my first ball I gave then Wiimote a little swing and my stroke sucked, so the next ball I gave it a little more, ok a little better...after a couple of minutes of playing I was stepping into the ball, doing full torso rotation and swinging just as hard as I do on a real court and I started to kick arse, build up a sweat, feel a little bit of muscle strain and manage to have more fun than I've had in years playing a game.
I left this persons house with the resolve that I was going to buy one asap, but what other games to buy? The only game these people had for me to cut my teeth on was Wii sports. Oh well not to fear I'll ask one of the girls at work that I know has a Wii. I get to work on Friday morning and tell her my story ,bubbling with excitement I go into every detail of the previous night. Looking at her I see she knows exactly what I'm talking about, ”so what other games should I buy with the console?” I ask excitedly “.....long pause...............ummm........well I don't really know of anything worth playing except for Wii sports and Guitar hero”.
So what to do now? I really loved the experience of the Wii ( even though that same Friday someone came into the store to buy a new lcd hd television to replace the one they broken with their Wiimote) but the only people I know who have them tell me that they don't know of any other good games for it ,and now this being proof of the lack of good games.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
Kinda makes me glad I'm sticking with my Cube.
The only thing on my mind is if I should by SSB Melee now or wait until the day I get a Wii (may be a while) and get the yummy-looking Brawl.

At least they are producing a wide selection of games, crap or not. The PS3 selection is getting a bit better, but unless you really love first-person games it ain't nothing great. And the system price is still ridiculous. At least the Wiii affordable with great backwards compatability, and they already have quite a few titles you can pick up for around 20 bucks used.
Nintendo has always been into crap, take a look at the NES, SNES, and N64 libraries. Lots 'o crap.
