Genesis Scart cable with boosted sync?
Genesis Scart cable with boosted sync?
I recently made my own genesis scart cable and it works great except there are faint jailbars especially when the screen has large patches of blue. It's not a deal breaker but I have seen on ebay genesis scart cables with boosted sync and wanted to know if anyone knows what that booster circuit is. I would like to add it to my scart cable. Is it possible it's just the simple sync stripper circuit using the LM1881n chip?
Re: Genesis Scart cable with boosted sync?
You are correct. The "boosted sync" cables you see on eBay just have the LM1881 chip in them. There is a very good chance that a sync stripper will remove your jailbars.

I''l give it a shot and see that happens. The only thing I could think of is adding a 220uf capacitor with a 75ohm resistor but the last thing I want it to damage my scart to hdmi converter.bmoc wrote:You are correct.
