Good SNES Games to use on a Projector?

Post by Luke »

Going to "hook up" my SNES to my theater setup, and am wondering what games you would recommend to play on the huge screen.

I'm going to start out with StarFox and Wing Commander, as I believe the blacks will fit the "theater environment".

Suggestions?

Projectors rarely have lag.

My favorite projector SNES game is Fzero. I may be terrible at it on the big screen, but it plays really well.

Same with Chrono Trigger and FFVI. Both are gorgeous when scaled up physically.

Quoth the Kool Aid Man, "Oh Yeeeeeahhhh!"

Gradious III and Super R*Type will probably both kick major tail (love the super rtype music)

Yes Sir! Thanks. Maybe pilotwings as well.

Thursday night will be interesting. Might play "Passy" with friends.

I'd think the terrible 8-12 frames per second rate that Starfox runs at would be more unbearable when huge, watching things jump 6 or more inches at a time as they chug across the screen.

I meant input lag, not slowdown. Not getting around that one for sure.

The Super Bombermans with the multi tap for 4 or 5 person multiplayer.

Also, since we're talking about the SNES and home theater setups, I feel this is worth mentioning...

Adding S/PDIF out to the SNES. AKA: Digital audio, the same you'd find on a DVD player and such.

I agree with this. F-Zero is incredible on a projector.

I'd also like to add Yoshi's Island since it's such a gorgeous game and still looks fantastic on a projector.
