Lets talk about "Swatting" and loss of freedom in America

So you may or may not of heard of the latest phenomenon going on in America called swatting, basically swatting is a prank that is used against popular video game streamers (Commonly on Twitch) where someone calls in an anonymous graphic and convincing bomb or murder/suicide/hostage situation. Police assume the threat is real and send in a heavily armed SWAT team to the streamers house thinking they are about to enter a serious danger zone. So they bust in guns blazing and take down the streamer all on camera for the prankster/swatter to enjoy while thousands of viewers get to see this humiliation.

I never really thought of america as a police state but after watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz8yLIOb2pU&feature=youtu.be I wonder what have happened to our 4th amendment rights and at what point did we trade freedom for safety. And what is to stop an unethical cop from using this swatting tactic as a loophole to search any house he pleases without a warrant. Am I the only one concerned here?

We had a similar incident happen here and the father of the intended prank victim was nearly shot since the officers raided in the middle of the night when it was pitch black.

It's a kind of damned if you do damned if you don't situation for the cops. Best they can do is catch the assholes who do these pranks and by then the damage is done.

I'm not so surprised that SWAT are so militarized, I mean it's the USA, but seriously, why aren't the pranksters behind bars? This ISN'T funny, it's dangerous, it wastes tax payer money, and it wastes the valuable time of the police force.
