Info on "Asian Version" Mike Tyson Punchout NES cartridge

Post by uddinf1 »

Hello,

I was digging through some of my old NES games and forgot that I had this. Its an Asian Version of Mike Tyson's Punchout. It was purchased by my father when he was in Singapore years ago but of course it did not work on my North American NES. I have not seen many of these white cart NES games around and wanted to know if this was rare or not. Thanks!

Probably unrelated since the language on the cartridge isn't Korean but it reminds me of the Hyundai Comboy.

South Korea didn't like to import Japanese stuff so companies like Nintendo and Sega got around this by having Korean companies manufacture/sell their products for them.

Apparently a lot of Asian countries officially got the front-loader NES, which is interesting considering how heavily pirated the Famicom was.

I don't know how particularly rare Asian version games are, but it's a neat curiosity.

Don't know about rarity but yeah, most asian countries outside Japan use PAL.
