Help me remember 2 childhood shows/movie?
Trying to remember these two movies from my early childhood. The first one was an animated movie that had some talking trains and there was some storm coming and they had to do something before the storm came, I think lighthouses were involved somehow.
The second one was sort of a barney-esk style show where there is this lady who wears a colorful jumpsuit and she somehow loses her color and has to get it back. There is much singing involved.
The movies must be from the 80's or early 90's.

Bingo! Wee sing in sillyville was the second one, for certain! Haha wow forgotten how cheesy it was, kind of painful to watch now. Kind of funny to see that as an adult, I now understand the race relation tone of the movie.
But no the first one was not Shining Time Station, but I do remember watching that show too. Is that where Thomas the Train came from? No the show I remember was a fully animated cartoon with talking trains.

So I'm not the only one to watch that show as a kid haha! oh man the nostalgia, I can even remember what our old kitchen looked like in my parents house before the remodel where I used to watch movies and tv after school.

To be fair, most American kids' had their first exposure to Thomas through Shining Time Station.fastbilly1 wrote:No Thomas came out in the 40s.ninjainspandex wrote:Is that where Thomas the Train came from?
Oh man, I didn't realize Wee Sing was a series. The wiki page reminded me of another one of their tapes that I watched a ton as a kid: Grandpa's Magical Toys.

I vaguely remember seeing a few of them in pre-school or maybe kindergarten.MrPopo wrote:To be fair, most American kids' had their first exposure to Thomas through Shining Time Station.fastbilly1 wrote:No Thomas came out in the 40s.ninjainspandex wrote:Is that where Thomas the Train came from?

It's always weird when you've all but forgotten something then you see it or someone brings it up and it all comes flooding back.

At my grandmother's house we had a bunch of tapes of kids shows that I'd never seen outside their house. The Wee Sing stuff was one. Another was Samson & Sally, which I rewatched not too long ago on youtube. It's a pretty disturbing movie, and it was a kid's movie!
