App or site for cataloging Sega CD games?

Post by psycoone007 »

I have several apps for my collections, but I dont have any that allow me to catalog my Sega CD titles. Im looking for something that shows me every game made on Sega CD, so I can see what I have when Im at shows, browsing ebay, etc.

You could use the "My Games"/"Mycollection" feature on Gamefaqs.
The "my games" tab takes you to another group of tabs, one being "Collection Builder". Choose all the games you own (also can be toggled to your collection by individual game pages in the user ratings column).
Then you can view them in the "My Collection" tab, filtered by whatever system you choose.

There's probably a better option, but that's been working well for me :) .

RFgeneration has a checklists that you can download or view online. If you catalog your games on the site it also adds the games you already have onto the list for you.

I approve of rfgen...
...but does it show pretty pics of all your games at once?... (it doesn't)

It depends on what the OP/TC wants.

I just realized that he wants EVERY game shown for the Sega CD. Gamefaqs shows everything released under the collection builder, but is separated into several pages :( and no pics in that part of the site.
I think a lot of sites have a Sega CD Master Lists (Game-Rave does and so did WorkingDesigns old site, still accessible through archive.org); Games are still not shown as pics on the actual list though.

You might do better to just copy/paste a list and bold/highlight the ones that you have or don't have.

Or use RFgens, as Fragems suggested, and select every game you don't have for your wishlist for that system. Then you just scan that over whenever you are somewhere.

Really though, with only 200+ releases, it's pretty easy to keep track of Sega CD games.

--Edit--
Apparently, I own 45 Sega CD games. I still would like a handful more (at least an even 50 sounds nice), but I'll never go for a full list.

The OP doesn't say anything about needing pics unless I misinterpreted something :P.

Here is the link to the Sega CD check list.

http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/checkli ... ;showall=1

If you input your collection on their site it will automatically fill in the boxes on the check list as well as put any comments in that you posted. Also if viewing online you can click on the game title and view the database page for the game which may or may not have scans of the game, case, and manual depending on whether or not anyone has scanned them in yet. A lot of the database pages are lacking scans/pictures though so if pictures are a deal breaker then you might want to check else where.

Yeah, I know.
It's just how I chose to interpret his need.
Also, I re-read my post and it probably comes off different than I intended.

Anyways, If I was out looking for games, I would want a quick reference to what each game looks like. Makes it easier to spot at a glance, especially if something is behind a counter (unless they are stored book style).

...uummmmm....
...........................
no.
I take it that you are being facetious,
but anyways, those never appealed to me back when I was collecting heavily for the system.
And if I'm going to get a game that isn't really a game (The Animals!), it better be freaking bizarre, like PANIC!.

Actually, Wirehead looks interesting, for a FMV game. Maybe if I come across it cheap, I'll buy it. Or I'll try it via Xbox emulator someday.
