Everdrive GB Pokemon Crystal RTC patch?

Post by ninjainspandex »

Anyone know where to find a patch to allow you to set the day and time everytime you start the game when played on a Gameboy Everdrive? Been searching for awhile but only seemed to find a patch for gold and silver.

Still wondering about this, seems like it would be a relatively easy hack.

You could post a request on the RHDN forums.

ROM Hacking Dot Net

http://www.romhacking.net/

They've been my go-to site for ROM hacks for some years now.

You could search the forums and see if any one is currently working on such a patch. I've never used the forums, but I'm sure there's some rules or guidelines to follow about such questions, as I'm sure they get a LOT of "Hey can some one make this hack?" posts. There might just be a dump thread or general thread that you can ask in, if you can't find it in a search.

Thanks they directed me to this hack, http://bubbz.pocketheaven.com/?system=g ... tch_id=727

Works great, just wish that time could at least progress while your playing the game. Also it is a little annoying to set the day you have to scroll through each 24 hour day. But all in all this patch is a blessing for the Everdrive GB

It would be cool if some one hacked it to have an in-game clock rather than a real time clock. I played Crystal for the first time a year or two ago. I put a fresh battery in. The thing was though, I was playing roughly the same time every day. It was after work, late evening / early night, so it was always the same time in the game. Also, I beat the game in about a week so the season never changed.

I'd love it if some one hacked it to have an in-game clock. And maybe with a slow, medium and fast speed setting. That way every one could get to experience the game at all times of day and all four seasons.

Off topic: This reminds me, I have Silver or Gold for DS that I've yet to play. Do the DS remakes use the DS RTC?

Yep the HG and SS use the DS system clock for the time and date. Yeah would be cool if someone could link the clock to the time played. Like 1 hour real time played = 4 hours ingame advancement.

IF it's not an impossibly hard thing to even hack into the game, I was thinking more like 3 speeds for time passing. No one would ever be able to agree on the speed so I was thinking there could be a slow, medium and fast setting.
