So you may or may not know I am a huge fan of both Nintendo and Arcade gaming. So when I found out the Madcatz Tekken Tag stick for the Wiiu dropped to $50 I ordered one within moments. It is hefty, tournament quality build, with an 8 button layout, and all Sanwa parts. It is also about four inches wider than my Hori Wii sticks. I am super happy with the sticks build and components, it is just awesome. The only downside is that it has to be tethered to a Wiimote.
However, when I hooked up the Madcatz stick to my trusty Mayflash Classic Controller to USB adapter (shaped like the original classic controller), then the problems started. Windows 7 sees the controller is connected, but there is no other communication. My Hori stick connected on the other port works fine. Apparently this is an issue for others aswell, there are post on NeoGAF and Shoryuken.
So anyone have any ideas? I have emailed Mayflash, but thats a bit of a crapshoot. I also tried it on two different Windows 7 PCs and a Linux box, all see that the stick is connected, but do not see any button pushes. It works fine on a Wii and a Wiiu, so it has to be the adapter, so if anyone has a none Mayflash CC to USB adapter I would be curious to know about it. If I can make this work, I am buying atleast one other stick.
Edit - I know I can cthulu mod it, but I would rather not.

Re: Wiiu Tekken Tag Stick and USB adapters
I can check with a few of my stick builder/modder friends whom I usually turn to with problems like this. But yea, I know you already know... but my suggestion would have just been a quick multi-system cthulu mod since they are solder-less and easy now.
It's strange that PC doesn't recognize, probably factored into the pricing that it currently has.
Will let you know if I find anything useful!

Re: Wiiu Tekken Tag Stick and USB adapters
Sorry you're having these problems, fast. That's the exact reason I hesitated on buying one of those sticks when you posted that sale. I have the same exact adapter you do, so I guess I saved myself a headache there.
You don't happen to have a MadCatz TvC stick you could try with the adapter, do you? Maybe some odd difference between Hori and MadCatz internals or something, idk.
Hope you can get it figured out.

Re: Wiiu Tekken Tag Stick and USB adapters
I appreciate it Chacha. Cthulu is my last straw on it. I mean it is an awesome stick for the price. The price has tanked since it is only officially "usable" on two games, TTT2 and Injustice, however it working on the Wii makes it awesome for the emulation box.
TSTR, sadly I dont have the TvC stick, but I have used one on my adapter so I know it works. Honestly, if I have to spend the $50ish to Cthulhu it thats fine, it will still be worth the cost.

Re: Wiiu Tekken Tag Stick and USB adapters
I have the same adapter and used to have all sorts of problems with it on my xp mame system. I found that it had to be plugged in (with the stick connected) before the system booted otherwise it would not pick up inputs, or act weird in general. This was with the TvC sticks btw.

Re: Wiiu Tekken Tag Stick and USB adapters
My only issue with the adapter on XP is that without updating the driver the stick for Player 1 is default to going right when at neutral. The updated driver fixed that though. I tried it the way you described with it all hooked up on boot, but no luck. Good thought though.
