We are set to do the month long celebration of Mega Man!
Please take a look below for the schedule. We will have a week devoted to free-play of Mega Man, which will allow us to explore beyond the classic games and X series.

I wanted to make participation as cost effective as possible. You can grab all of the games in this celebration from the PS2 compilations listed below.

Amazon:
$15.60 new w/ prime Mega Man Anniversary Collection - PS2
$10.89 (price drop) new w/ prime Mega Man X Collection - PS2

Schedule:
May 1 - 10 - NES Era (1987 - 1993) (Mega Man 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
May 11 -17 - Super Nintendo Era (1993 - 1995) (Mega Man 7, Mega Man X, X2)
May 18 - 24 - Playstation Era (1996 - 2001) (Mega Man 8, Mega Man X3, X4, X5, X6)
May 25 - 31 - BYOMM (Bring Your Own Mega Man): Pick any Mega Man game and discuss it here.

I would be all for this! I'm a huge fan and am extremely excited for Mega May and Mega Man in Super Smash Bros.!

For anyone interested in the eShop Mega May, Nintendo will announce the release dates for games on May 1st:

Im down. I'll play the PS2 ports on the collection!
This will be a good excuse to play the games for the fist time.

Awesome! There wasn't much interest initially so I left this thread alone.

What do you guys think we should do? Play whatever or have more of a schedule such as Megaman 1-3 for Week 1 and so forth.

Maybe I'll find inspiration to finally play Mega Man X6 or Mega Man Battle & Chase from the Mega Man X Collection?

Maybe just play them in some sort of order and share thoughts on the games as we go playing them.

I play Megaman fairly often, so I'm going to try and beat 8, 9 and 10 which I've never done. The last 2 times I tried MM8 I shut it off after hearing "I'm Clown Man!" and "I'm Grenade Man!" But I've since found the Famicom remix and will be listening to that instead.

I just got the Anniversary collection on Xbox.

Are these essentially direct ports of the older games?

I just finished Powered Up and plan on replaying the original NES Mega Man for comparison, so I'd be down for more Mega Man. :D
