Sega Saturn Mod Chip

Post by thrasherx »

So I'm a little pate to the game but I just picked up a Sega Saturn Model 2 (64 pin connector). I can't find a mod chip in-stock ANYWHERE. Can someone help me? Thanks!

These are becoming hard to come by. I did mine about 2 years ago. I would contact the guy from Sega Style. Ive worked with him before and he always responds fast and is good to deal with. You can also try and email our own Racket Boy. The only other option is the gentleman in Europe Robb Webb. These are the only places i know that still or may still carry them at this point.

Robb Webb is the only way to go unless you want to overpay. Stay away from the SSIC8Bs, those chips will break in half if you breathe on them wrong.

I've dealt with Robb many times in the past, and can vouch for his products - Always a pleasure.

Thanks, everyone! I emailed Sega Style a few weeks ago, asking when they mod chips would be back in stock, but haven't heard back. It's been several months that I've been watching the website to see if they're available.

I just looked at consolegoods.co.uk and didn't see any mod chips under the Sega Saturn section.

I'll keep digging.

Im surprised the gentleman at Segastyle hasnt responded. In any rate i perused Robb Webb website yesterday and saw this perhaps i should of posted it when i made my post yesterday." Removal of the Sega Saturn Modchip Boards "V2" and "V3 Universal"
Although we are holding stock of these, we have been asked by Paypal to remove them from our calaloge and not accept Paypal payments" So i would email him at this point.

Interesting to find. I'll shoot him an email. I never would have found this without you mentioning it. Thanks!

P.S. This obviously means that the Dreamcast 2 is in development with an App Store or backwards compatibility.

I was scared myself when i put mine in. It was the first time i opened a console first time i did anything like this. It feels really brittle but if you use your hand as some sort of make shift structural support and with a little prayer i got it to work. Lol..

I got a response from Robb. This isn't my first rodeo with modding, but I've mainly done 360 and PS3 stuff. Thanks for the guidance. Now I need to get my GameCube and PS1/PS2 chips.

I've slowly amassed my humble console collection:
GCE Vectrex
NES
SNES
N64
GameCube
Wii (Softmod)
Sega Genesis
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
PS1
PS2
PS3
Xbox (Softmod)
Xbox 360 (RGH)
