FF XII

Post by Integrity »

Did anyone like it? I played it for like 25 hours when it first came out and hated it. I picked it up again last night and I'm liking it more than I did when I first started.

An FF game that is actually hard? The more I hear about this one, the more I like.

Its a great game. Different to the previous FF games and feels like a MMO.

I cranked out 40 hours on it and reached the Tchita Uplands. I haven't played it for about 6 months now. I kinda just stalled out. It's definitely a hard game. Choosing which enemies to fight makes it harder to level up because you don't always want to fight, whereas with random battles, you more or less have to fight so the game keeps you on pace for leveling. I think maybe I'll just gameshark it and finish the rest pretty soon. I really wanna see how this story plays out. Also, i think it's one of the best looking games on the PS2 by far. I was blown away by the vastness of some of the open areas, it seemed like you could see 10x further than in any other PS2 game.

And in one fell swoop you kill my interest.

I'm trying to give Persona 3 a fair chance right now anyway. Seems to be the most untraditional jRPG in ages.

I don't think FF XII is like an MMO, that's a bad comparison.

Hopefully Persona 3 is really good, it's the first "new" game I've bought in a long time. I played it for 15-20 minutes just to check it out and it seems like it's worth it, it's the next one I'm going to work on.

Persona 3 is AWESOME!

and to Mozgus, It's not quite comparable to an mmo, I think it would do you well to give it a shot. Intriguing story, beautiful graphics, and definitely challenging!

I am about 15 hours or so into it and so far like the game - although the battle system didn't really grab me until about 10 hours in (once you get more interesting abilities/party members). That said, it has held my attention better than some of the more recent efforts in the series.

I hated 10, but this one does look intriguing. But I just don't think I have the time for a super long and involved game like this.
