Best game ever created. Absolutely brilliant. Nothing even comes close.
First time I heard Dancing Mad was a life-changing moment for me and completely changed my perception about what video games were and could be.
Anyway, thanks for the video link.

What?! A new HCG episode dammit Youtube! He's my favorite channel on YT.
Unfortunately I've never played it, i had a Genesis growing up. But i've heard nothing but great things about the game.

Wow, I actually just started playing this for the first time ever on my new SNES copy of it this week. I'm only as far as traveling on the raft with Baron, but I'm already amazed with the quality of it compared to other SNES RPG's. Its no surprise it attained a legendary status.
Current systems: Atari 2600[x2], NES(top loader), SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, PS2 slim, xbox, xbox 360, Turbografx-16, Game Boy Pocket, Game boy SP[x2], Nintendo DS[x2], Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Wonderswan Color, Neo Geo MVS.

Has it really been that long?
Like BoneSnapDeez, FF6 changed the way I see videogames. I think it was hearing Terra's theme and the Phantom Forest that really captured me with its magic.
But then, almost all the music tracks can take me away.
This truly is to most perfect RPG in my collection. It's rare in an RPG where I genuinely care about my party members.
Also rare is when the party members are both individually unique and customizable.
I also like how it had 2 player settings so a friend can control a couple characters too. Few RPG's can absorb 2 people at once like it did with me and a friend.
Really, no words do this game justice though (and I'll stop trying now).
It's easily in my top 5 games of all time.
Thank you Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yoshinori Kitase, Hiroyuki Ito, Yoshitaka Amano, Nobuo Uematsu, the rest of Squaresoft staff, and Ted Woolsey.
2 decades later and I'm still amazed.

I didn't play it until 2010 or so but damn did it still blow me away. Once got to the World of Ruin I knew I had a new favorite Final Fantasy game.

Played it for the first time over the summer and it didn't move me. I found the enemy encounter rate to be highly frustrating and the story to be pretty disjointed after getting into the World of Ruin. I actually made a pretty detailed post about why I felt the game was overrated in the Summer Games Challenge 2013 thread, if anyone cares to take a look. It's fun, a well-made RPG, but (in my opinion) not worthy of all the hype it gets.

I really like the soundtrack but I didn't enjoy the game enough to keep playing after you get to the WoR.
And looking back, materia system>magicite system.

Just knew there'd be some differing opinions eventually. XD
Oh well, that's to be expected I suppose.
I'll just have to ignore both of your opinions and comments from now on.

What a super-duper game! I need to play it again, as I don't remember much, but I certainly enjoyed it. Man, Square used to kick ass.
EDIT:
EDIT:
It's super refreshing and awesome to hear such things from people - all too often I feel crazy for being absolutely balls-to-the-wall raving about video games (FFIX, specifically, for me), but they're definitely worthy of such praise on occasionBoneSnapDeez wrote:Best game ever created. Final Fantasy IX is the best one
