Want a good review? Bribe me!

Post by TheRev »

Review gate I know there are quite a few websites that take bribes in exchange for a good review. Destructoid does, they are trying to silence me on blowing the whistle I remember hearing Gamespot does as well. IGN Hasn't been proven.

Does anybody else knows who takes bribes in exchange for a good review. It shouldn't matter but there are drones that rely on reviews.

I'm not sure if that's a threat or a joke.

I'm curious on the Destructoid thing too. As a drone that listens to Jim Sterling's opinion before blowing $60 on a bad game, this effects me (It doesn't. I don't actually care. I'm just doubting there's any conclusive evidence).

The indisputable truth is that they reviewed a game he hates and gave it a good score.

Well I noticed an inconsistency in Destructoids reivews. EVERY small studio game gets 5 or less. But huge AAA games get an 8 or higher. The smaller the studio the lower the game review is.

Granted this is a common practice.

But they'd rather sweep the allegations under the rug than publicly address them.

1. Sterling left
2. It's their review of Redux that got me suspicious. They gave the game a 5 for Absolutely no reason.

In trying to prove that specific websites are accepting bribes, your evidence is a blog article that says roughly the same thing as you (except without publishers names), who only cites one other website which merely states that one website may have (but not definitely) been dumped from Metacritic for accepting bribes?

Not to mention that your link to a link of "proof" actually denies your claims here.

Please, just stop.
