BEST Minigames?

Post by catnip »

I just saw a "Worst Obtrustive Minigames" thread, but didn't see the positive side to it:

Are there any minigames that you love to play? Which ones? Why?

I'll plug it here, I LOVE Tetra Master and Blitzball. Mostly TM. I programmed a text-based version in C++. Gotta add a UI, but... yeah, I hope to put it online someday :3

Chocobo Hot n' Cold from Final Fantasy IX.

First one to come to mind because it's fun, addictive, and rewarding.

Agreed. Especially in the "rewarding" aspect. Gotta love gold chocobos!

I think the OP of that thread intended it to be minigames that are unavoidable, not just bad, although that's what the thread devolved to.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Yeah, I think you're right. That said, I'd still be interested to hear what minigames y'all like :3

I remember enjoying the hovercraft races in Beyond Good & Evil.

The Tingle Tower mini games in 4 Sword Adventures may be even better than the main game, which is quite a feat.

Xenogears also had the stadium style 1v1 Gear fights. They were quite simple and easy to cheese your way through but provided a nice diversion.

I never understood how to play. It's funny; Tetra Master came very easily to me, and yet, while people said TT was way easier, I never figured it out xD
