Gauntlet Making a Return
Gauntlet Making a Return
Warner Bros. Games want to bring back Gauntlet and it looks pretty decent. They're getting Arrowhead to develop the game, the same folks that did the Magicka series. I was actually wondering the other day if / when we'd see someone try and reboot Gauntlet, and I guess this answers my question. =p I'm not sure which platforms it's on, though. Presumably PC and major consoles? Anyway, trailer ahoy for those interested. =)

Aslong as Arrowhead doesnt over complicate it I am in. But Magicka was super complicated for what it was.
Re: Gauntlet Making a Return
Current information seems to point to it being PC only. The trailer looks very promising; this is a return back to the original Gauntlet but with some of the things done in Legends (super attacks) and other things that have been learned along the way. It seems like a good update of a classic game that maintains the core that made it a classic.

That actually looks very good. It also just made me realize just how much Diablo must have been influenced by Gauntlet and how it is starting to get paid forward, incorporating some it's more modern devices to the Gauntlet formula. I'm down with it!

Was waiting for "Warrior needs food badly"; was not disappointed.
Game looks pretty wicked, the fact that it's on Steam is even better. Magicka is a terrible game, hopefully absolutely nothing from it gets carried over to here.

So Warner Bros. bought Midway, huh?
Looks like a sweet game, I love this series. Hoping for a physical release...

Ok, this is marketing:
Which is at GDC selling Turkey Legs and Candied Apples, no word on potions or keys.

I'm a bit torn. While I fed many dollars into the 4-way GauntIet cab as a child, actually liked the changes made with the "Legends" version I have on Dreamcast and "Dark Legacy" on GCC. More organic levels. This one looks more grid-like...more boring.

The direction they have taken seems pretty good but it's going to be another of those games that is made or broken by level design, isn't it?
It's hard for me to have faith in developers in that regard.
