In this thread I will post updates on the development process of our indie shmup Teslapunk. We are currently working on an improved Wii U version. Feel free to comment or leave some feedback while you are here.
The premium version of Teslapunk is already released for the following systems. Currently with 4 levels and rebalanced gameplay, game pad support. Buyers of the early version will get the upcoming 2 new levels as a free update.

Yeah, we have been thinking about that.
One problem with allowing touch control is. Players using touch controls would actually be in advantage. Because with a traditional game pad / stick you have a fixed possible max movement speed. So it takes you a certain amount of time to get from the left border of the screen to the right. However with touch control you can almost instantly go from A to B.
So when playing for highscores, players using game pads would be at a disadvantage here. That is something we want to avoid. So we will very likely just stick with a traditional control scheme for the main game.

It could be a different mode with a seperate score table?
Either way, it's interesting to see stuff like this.
Here is a preview of our tutorial. Yeah, it is one of thsoe, were text messages interrupt your gameplay. I guess you are already excited to play this. :p
But on a serious note, it is gonne be short and will have some useful information too. But it is also aimed at genre newcomers, who we want to get some basic understandings of shmup principles, like the hitbox thing. Maybe we also have a brief explanation about rank too.
We are still alive and didn't give up the project. But we are not all working full time on the game and the last few bits of finishing it up have been taking quite a while.
So, I hope you enjoy the game and I would love to see some highscores. I will try to hunt you down on the leaderboards.
