Any saturn pros able to identify a mod?

Picked this up for a good price this weekend. Trying to determine what the switch does. Cracked it open a bit and snapped a couple shots. Didn't dig too deep because I'd prefer not too if I can help it. Here is what I could see.




Any ideas or should I keep digging to see what they all do underneath?

My guess is that its a region switch for the power. But other than that I wouldn't know. And if it is a power switch, how do I figure out which way is for the us and which for Japan?

looks like a region switch and they added a US power supply? not sure why they changed the power supply as jp plays nice with us power. Maybe it was dead so they replaced it?

I thought I had read somewhere that while the Japanese system runs on us power it runs a little hot due to the difference between the regions. Which would explain a switch, to alleviate the extra wear due to hear. But I could be imagining all that.
