Gamecube sd Gecko help

I recently got an sd gecko and need some help using it. I want to use it as a standard Gamecube memory card just load a save file on it. It get an error on my Gamecube saying it isn't able to use it. I really just need to get a save file onto another memory card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

That won't work. Gamecube doesn't include software to read or write sd cards.

Standard save files can be moved to another memory card from the menu.
But 3rd party utilities are needed if locked (F-Zero GX) or different format (written using NTSC-J hardware).
