PS2 Wireless Katana Receiver Shuts Off

Hey guys,

I recently bought two of the officially licensed PS2 wireless controllers called Katana's. I bought a lot of two without receivers because I also recently bought a PS2 lot that had two Katana's with the receivers, so I figured I'd have four total and two receivers. Well the one lot w/o receiver's actually came with one that the seller says shuts off randomly. He just threw it in thinking I may be able to get it working (which is also why he listed the auction without it).

So, repair minded friends, what do you all think could be the problem? Should I just toss it or could there be something simple that I may be able to fix and have a third working receiver?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
