Famicom Disk System exclusives

Post by Octopod »

Does anyone have a list of FDS games that were never released in cartridge form on either the Famicom or NES? Or just know of any notables that were never issued on a cart?

I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

I think it would be easier to make a list of the games that DID get a cart release at some point.

Zelda, Zelda II, Crackout, Castlevania, Castlevania II, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Stinger, Rush 'n Attack, Double Dribble, Pro Wrestling.

I am sure there are more, but those are off the top of my head.

I'm trying to decide if a FDS is worth a purchase or not.

I'm a really big fan of the system, so I would say yes. Even the games that did get a cart release IMHO are better on disk with expanded audio. Also, saves in Metroid, Kid Icarus, Castlevania, etc. are much appreciated. Give it a shot, but make sure you get a drive that is in good shape and ready to go.

As someone who doesn't own a FDS or Famicom, I have my eye on a Sharp Twin Famicom. Those things look amazing.

That is what I am considering too. Anyone know anything about this site?

The guy sells Twin Famis for $120 with new belts and a 72-60 pin adaptor so that you can play NES games on it also. I am guessing it is a Hong Kong site and I'm not sure what shipping is. I doubt it is included in that price. Still it seems to be a decent price.

Thanks for the advice and information guys.

I've got a Twin and a standalone FDS. They are both nice, but I prefer the AV Famicom/FDS combo for the multitude of controllers that you can use with it.

I bought some parts from them through ebay last year and had no issues. Shipping seemed reasonable for what I got.
